Arsenal find out to today if they lose a second key man to a three match suspension. Emmanuel Adebayor, along with Mikel John obi, lodged an appeal with the Football Association for wrongful dismissal in the hope of having a red card in the Carling Cup Final in Cardiff rescinded, after being sent off for violent conduct on the pitch. Kolo Toure has not made an appeal, and therefore automatically faces a ban. A decision will come ahead of Arsenal's FA cup forth round replay tomorrow night.
Toure does not believe that he had done anything wrong, and hopes that video evidence will show that. He stated that "when they look at the tapes, they will see I have done nothing wrong." The managers of both teams said the incident was disappointing. Mourinho said that it was disappointing, but understandable. There was a lot of fustration in the game, whilst Arsene Wenger admitted the mass brawl at the end of the Carling Cup Final had taken the shine off a decent contest, and accepted repercussions looked inevitable. He added, "I am sure the players will be punished, will it be once or twice? With the FA you always have a chance to worry."
Earlier yesterday, Toure said: " I apologise for this moment and I regret my actions. Chelsea were winning and were starting to waster time, and I was not happy with that, which is why I went to Mikel and had some words with him."
