Al-Qaida regroup in Pakistan
'Al-Qaida is on the march' claims Hoffman of Georgetown University
Recent reports state that there is considerable evidence to suggest that Al-Qaida has managed to regroup in tribal lands in Pakistan. This follows an attack on the Vice President of America Dick Cheney. Cheney was dispatched yesterday to crack down on the Taliban when a suicide bomber blew himself up just outside the military base, the Taliban has claimed that they are responsible for the attack and that Cheney was indeed the target. It is reported that between 10 and 20 people were killed and around 25 more were injured.
Since the attacks of September 11 Bush has severely weakened Al-Qaida but now they are said to be regrouping and are set to come back 'stronger than ever'. There have been plans from the former Al-Qaida leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawito to send militants to the United States on student visas to carry out attacks on U.S. soil.
George W.Bush recently described the lawless border area between Afghanistan and pakistan as 'wilder than the Wild West' because of all the terrorist activity and top officials in the U.S. government are very concerned about this.
