Threats made to take clinically obese minor away from Mum
Connor McCreaddie has broken four beds and five bicycles. On tuesday his Mother faces a formal child protection conference which may lead to the proceeds of Connor being put into care.
Connors Mother claims that Connor has inherited the families intolerance to fruit and vegetables, therefore it has been difficult to keep his diet healthy. However one National health source said: "We have made many attempts to arrange for Connor to have appointments with community and paediatric nutritionists, public health experts, school nurses and social workers to weight and measure him and to address his diet, but the appointments have been missed. As a result, only the last result is being considered essential in controlling the effect this life-style has on his health." The source continued, "This is neglect and fits under the child abuse category. It is concerning that Connor is more than three times the average weight for his age, and this is clearly due to lack of parental responsibility."
