A elderly women, was killed in an gas leak.  This took place in Newcastle.The home of moira dickson was reduced to a pile of rubble in the blast, which is thought to have been caused by a gas explosion. Neighbours said,aged in her 80s, was trapped upstairs bedroom while her husband, named as Joe Cairns, was downstairs making a cup of tea. a 63 year old man, believed to be mr Cairns, was in a serious condition at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infimary suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
