Radio One loses half a million listeners
Radio One has lost over 500,000 listeners in the last three months.
According to new figures, Radio One has lost more than 500,000 listeners, in the past three months. The news also came in the same week that Radio One was crowned UK station of the year at the Sony Awards. Audience fell from 10.20 million to 9.73 million which is a drop of  560,000 listeners. Chris Mayleswho won the Entertainment Award at the Sony and has also lost 300,000 listeners  in the same period, Breakfast Showed. It is still 130,000 up on last year.
Today, the figures for the first quarter of 2006 were released by industry body body Rajar. Radio One is still a high despite all ratings fall after picking up a clutch of Sony Awards, the Industry is equivalent to the Oscars. Radio two has also  experienced  a rating dip. In the last quarter, it went down 310,000 listeners from 13.25 million to 12.97 million. Chris Evans who is Son's Music Personality of the year, had an audience of 1.43 million for his Saturday afternoon show and has since taken over. The first ratings will be available in the next set of Rajar figures.

Terry Wogan still remains the nation's favourite DJ with an audience of 7.77 million even though it is down 200,000 on the last quarter.
