Israel unleashes more missiles
Israel continues the battle with Hizbollah after bombs hit Haifa
Israel have retaliated to Hizbollah missiles by unleashing a bomb on a Beirut port. In these new wave of attacks on monday, it appears that 17 lebanese people have been killed and 53 people have been wounded during the attacks. The conflict began when Hizbollah captured two Israeli soldiers and killed eight, and now it has grown into a massive war.
Israel has fired missiles into two army posts, Abdeb and Tripoli, killing nine Lebanese soldiers. Another missile has been fired into a southern Beirut suburb, which is a stronghold for the militant group, Hizbollah. After this, another missile had been launched to the town of Dawra, luckly, no-one died.
All of this happened in response to missiles that were launched into Israel. One hit Haifa which killed eight Israelis, and another penetrated 33 miles past the Israel/Lebanon border into the smaller town of Afula.
The most serious missile strike was at Beirut's port area. Where the missile landed, a fire had been caused, which killed two people. However, the harbour was not seriously damaged so the firemen were able to put it out easily.
The latest wave of attacks was preceded by attacks from both sides yesterday. A Hizbollah rocket killed eight people in the city of Haifa, and later on an Israeli airstike killed 23 civilians across Lebanon. These strikes bring the body count to 148 dead lebanese, to much a much lesser 24 dead Israelis. This leaves innocent people of Lebanon and Israel wondering if the conflict will ever end.
