People around the world are asking themselves whether Wayne Rooney will be able to play in the world cup afetr his foot injury. Rooney underwent a scan in hospital earlier this week. Manchester United have been very protective of the results. He expects a call soon with the results, which will be followed by a official anouncment by both Old Trafford and F.A headquarters. 
Rooney's encouraging progress has lifted hopes of the public and Sven. He said, "I'm still optimistic and I still think we will take him."
