Let the battle begin- Olympic Style!
Companies battle for a partnership in the 2012 Olympic games; six categories, six gold companies and no medals for the rest.
The London 2012 Olympic comittee is offering 6 partnerships available to private companies. One comany will be chosen to reprsent each category. However this honour does not come without a price- each company who win a partnership will have to pay up to £100 million. This large sum of money will be a great contribution to the mighty £2 billion price tag of hosting the legendary event. In addition to this, the partnership could promote great interest from the community and boost their monetary earnings. The official invites for partners will be issued in October 2006.
The six categories are divided as follows; banking, insurance, oil and gas, automotive, telecommunications and utility services (electricity and natural gas). This categorising allows an equal distribution amongst bidding companies and ensures that  one single company type does not dominate the advertising oppurtunities.
Banking and insurance companies will receive the first offers. The chosen few will be announced before March 2007, permitting them to assosciate themselves with the Olympic Games over the next 6 years- maximising the time they have to reap the advertising benefits of being related to the Games.
