Life of Pi by Yann Martel is a totally different idea. 


The plot follows young Piscine aka Pi. After his family sell up their zoo in India they want to move to Canada, however on their journey across the Pacific Ocean disaster strikes.
Pi ends up on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with a spotted hyena, a orangutang, a zebra with a broken leg and last but no means least.... a Bengal Tiger.

This book is abit of a slow starter but it soon gets going. The descriptions are so vivid that you really feel like your with Pi.
