Competition Before The Olympics Has Begun
Competiton for the honour of being a partner for the London 2012 Olympics has already begun. There will be six major partners, each will have to pay up to £100million for the privilege. Bids will start in October.
Competition for the honour of being a partner for the London 2012 Olympics has already begun. There will be six major partners, each will have to pay up to £100million for the privilege. Bids will start in October.


The offical partners will be from six catogries;


- Insurance
- Banking 
- Oil and Gas
- Utility (Water and Electric)
- Cars
- Telecommunications


Banking and Insurance companies will have the opportunity to bid first. The remaining four categories will have the opportunity to bid in the next few months. The oil tycoon BP are said to be interested and so are British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. Bids will start in October and the successful companies will be announced by the end of the financial year, March 2007.


Money from the partners will go towards the £2billion that the 2012 London Olympics will cost. 1/3 of the revenue will come from TV rights and the rest will come from merchandise, ticket sales and the National Lottery.
