Cricketer banned for abusive outburst.
Lancashire all-rounder Dominic Cork has been banned from the Lancashires first 50 over match of the 2007 campaign.
The ex-england all-rounder Dominic Cork has been banned from Lancashire's first one day match of next season. The banning has been introduced after the Lancastrian made abusive remarks to a doping control offical. These remarks followed the C&G Trophy final against Sussex at Lords on August 26. Cork, who has also been on the receiving end of a £1500 fine and ordered to pay £1000 costs, was accepted by the disiplinary panal for being in an emotional state at the time - after his team had lost to Sussex in a close finish.

A statement today read: "In mitigation, Mr Cork said that his remarks were made when he was in a highly emotional state following Lancashires defeat. He had apoligised to the official concerned. The panel accepted that Mr Cork was highly emotional, but he had belittled the official in the presence of his Lancashire team-mates.

"It was a matter of concern that no-one preent in the dressing room had attempted to difuse the situation."
