At home with Holland
Britain have been given a bye and been drawn to play the Netherlands in the next round of the Davis Cup, after beating Ukraine recently.
Great Britains Davis Cup team have secured a place to play the Netherlands in the 2007 match, after beating Ukraine last weekend.
It was new captains John Lloyds first match in charge to uphold their status in euro African zone one, and they had a successful match beating Ukraine 3-2. This means they will face Holland next April and if they win they have the chance to play off for world group status, the top tier of the davis cup, later next year.
It was World number 16 Andrew Murray who lead Britain to victory, when he won comfortable straight sets against Sergiy Stakhovsky. He is expected to lead Britain to victory against Holland, and Raemon Sluiter, the top ranked Dutch player with a world ranking of number 88, is hoping to secure a win for the Netherlands. Andrew Murray has been on fine form recently, winning many important matches, however he was fined after swearing at an umpire during a doubles match alongside Greg Reusedski.
Of the draw captain John Lloyd said "I'm very happy, playing at home will give the team a huge boost. The Netherlands are clearly a quality side but april's tie is certainly one we can win." Fortune should be on Britains side, as Great Britain have beaten the Netherlands twice before in the Davis cup. However the last time the two nations met in the Davis cup back in 1960, when Britain won 5-0 away.
