£9 Million Grant Boosts Reds Stadium Hopes
Plans for Liverpool's new stadium were handed a massive boost thanks to a £9 million European grant.
Liverpool's new stadium, planned to be built in Stanley Park, has been boosted by a £9 million grant. It is proposed to be a 60,000 capacity stadium with a shop-lined plaza also being created on the site currently being used as a car park. It is believed to have generated a very positive atmosphere among the fans and everyone else associated with the club.


When asked about his thoughts on the new developments, Chief Executive Rick Parry said, "It's another significant step forward in our plans for the new stadium, which we have always seen as a catalyst for the regeneration of the whole area." Another key member in the plans for this development is Flo Clucas, Chairman of the Objective One project selection sub-commitee, agreed yesterday, "This is a major step forward for the people of Anfield. It will underpin substantial investement by other partners who's commitment will help transform the neighbourhood.


This grant has only become avaliable since the club guarenteed they will have the total of £180 million to initially start off the project. It has no become apparent that they can also now claim £5 million from the county council and a further £8.9 million for the Northwest Regional Development Agency.
