Can't kop with demand from Liverpool fans
Having secured the £9 million european grant, Liverpool look to both the future and the past of England's most famous stadum
As Liverpool look to the future in their planned 60,000 all-seater stadium, some remember the stadium that has stood behind Britains most succesfull club for 122 years. A stadium whose trophy room contains, amoung others, 5 champions league trophy's, stands still as an impressive stadium by current premiership standards boasting a capacity of 45,362 people. The stadium attains it's god-like status with the fans and players for many reasons. Fans will remember the days of the great Bill Shankley, who brought 11 trophies in his 26 year stretch at the club, while revlutionising the way that Liverpool play football. However everytime a footballer prepares to walk onto the infamous pitch, the poster hanging above the tunnel is immortal, and has struck fear into the opposition forever and simply reads: "This is Anfield". However with this grant Liverpool have almost concreted their move to "Stanley Park", a move which should hopefully bring the only trophy that Anfield's vast trophy hall could never boast about: the premiership.
