Mr. Alexander Litvinenko is a former Russian spy who was poisoned with the lethal toxin Thallium, and has now been taken to intensive care. Thallium is a substance capable of killing a person with just a small dose, with the minor effects being several organ failures, nervous system damage and hair loss. The 41 year old's disaster started on November 1st. It was reported that he had two meetings, one with another former Russian agent and the second with an Italian man. 
His meeting with the Italian man was at an ITSU sushi bar in Piccadily, which was believed where he took the dose of Thallium. Eighteen days later, he became severely ill and was admitted to hospital. As many of his friends lie by his bedside, some suggest the poisoning was deliberately done by the Russian government as Litvinenko was a critic of the Kremlin, however the Russian intelligence have released a statement which says that they had nothing to do with the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko. 
Scotland Yard is currently investigating this 'James Bond' scenario, possibly using their counter-terrorism group. As his condition worsens at intensive care, he only has a 50/50 chance of living. He was investigating a Russian journalist's death. But now scotland Yard could be investigating two deaths now.
