New cameras for police to fight anti-social behaviour.
New cameras to hold evidence of anti-social behaviour!
Mini cameras will be used by the police to try and reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour on the streets. They will record evidence on what young teenagers are doing.
These small cameras will be able to fit on the side of an officer's head gear. Their high quality recording can record up to 12 hours, this is basically the maximum amount of hours a shift is for an officer. Each pack is £1,800!
They will be used for the first time this week in Haringey, North London. If this project should be a success it will be given a wider use for all communities. If anyone should commit offences against innocent victims on the streets the officers would have already recorded evidence of it, having enough to take them to court. ASBO children that are on the streets, particularly at night, are drinking excessively and every single one of them should already be able to understand the consequences of their actions! Hopefully these new gadgets will be able to stop it!
