A new law has been placed under government school reforms. Schools minister Jacqui Smith speaking ahead of the anti-bullying week warned troublemakers, "will not be tolerated".
The "Beat Bullying" charity said that at least 20,000 children skip or bunk school to avoid the bullies as they are frightened or scared to do anything about it or tell someone.
The report showed that one in three truants (36 per cent) blame bullying and two of every five young people (42 per cent) who are bullied, admit to skipping school at least once and a third of all young people aged between 11-17 also admit to skipping school!
