Litvinenko at the Doorstep of Death
Russian ex-spy- Litvinenko is struggling between life and death after having lunch at a west end london sushi bar .
The 43-year-old, Russian ex-spy is now in the intensive care unit, guarded by policemen at the University College Hospital after he had been given a poison thallium whilst in a West End Sushi bar, with former colleague - the Italian professer Mario Scaramella. Litvinenko' s grey hair has fallen out as he is surrounded by medical apparatus and is supported by a life support machine and two intravenous drips. The poison thallium that was given to him, which is likely to destroy the bone marrow and could cause Litvinenko kidney failiure.The Russian spy had moved to Britain after he had resigned from his job 6 years ago after a falling out with the russian government, who he had worked for. Police have asked Litvinenko who he thinks the suspect is and he had replied that he believes it's Kremlin - the Russian government, who he used to work for. Former friend Olgeg Gordisky says, "Sasha (Litvinenko) was feeling unwell before lunch." It is belived that Litvinenko may have been poisoned at the Central London Hotel, where he met KGB officer and his friend Andrei Lougovey, before going to the restaurant
