GERRARD AND HIS "SPECIAL WEEK"
Gerrard is ready to lead England to a win tomorrow against Israel.
Liverpool captain and midfielder Steven Gerrard is hoping to assist England to a win tomorrow against Israel. But before that Gerrard had an exciting start to this "special week" by visiting the Queen at Buckingham Palace. He was awarded the MBE award in the New Year's Honours list and the Queen told him "Keep doing what you've been doing".
The 26 year-old is now looking forward to guiding England past Israel.
'I just hope we can get the right results at the weekend to complete a special week." he said.
Although through the years Gerrard has felt disappointment, he has recently felt that the new team has come together. For players like Gerrard it must be hard to leave Liverpool to go and train with the England squad. He has once said. "If I lose a friendly it hurts. If I lose in training it hurts and if I lose in any football match it hurts badly." This information just shows how dedicated to football he is. With Gerrard being a key man for England, the nation will be looking for a brilliant performance which he has yet to deliver.
