Today the mystery surrounding phone scamming is being investigated as there are a couple of T.V shows who have lead the public to believe that their call counted when in actual fact it didn't. The programme Dancing on Ice admitted that 500 votes were not being counted on a regular basis during the 11 week dance-off. Brainteaser and Blue Peter were also involved in irregular phone-ins and have since apologised to the public for this misdemeanour. Other programmes who have admitted that they have been not completely honest with regard to phone-ins include Richard and Judy, Saturday Kitchen, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Take Away, Soapstar Superstar and the X Factor. This may prove to the be end of telephone phone-ins as the public will have lost faith in their credibility.
