The hunt for a prisoner snatched by three men from a security van outside a magistrates court continued today.A prisoner who screamed "DONT LET THEM TAKE ME" was snatched by three masked men.
The prisoners name was Aron Williams aged 21.He was just yards away from the Salford's magistrates court when three men in balaclavas with kitchen knives snatched him.The three men struck at 7.50 am on Thursday at the rear security gates in Adelphi street.They punctured and slashed the security vans front tyre. The three men were using a vauxhall zafira. They also threatened a female officer before leaving.
The security van driver was punched in the face during the incident.
A spokesmen for the Metropolitan police said "this is a very unusual incident.When this level of violence is offered or used there is very little that we can do".The police said that it wasn't clear if Mr Williams might have been trying to escape or if he was abducted by the gang.
The three men were white, about 5ft 6ins to about 5ft 7ins and were athletic built. They were in there early 20s and had an local accent.
